PARENT MEETING 10/19/06 @ 6:30 P.M. in Charles R. Drew Middle School's auditorium.  This meeting is very important.  Please plan to attend.

 Kaplan Tutoring - Miami Northwestern Senior High, Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 12:00  p.m. for FCAT.  Dreamers please plan on attending all sessions for your FCAT success.

Our first tutoring session was a success!  Dreamers in attendance were, Jabora, Byron, Tykara, Sherdale, Sharonda, Jonathon, Priscilla, Kelvin, Tidra, Arturo, Princess, Eldrick, Michalette, Christopher, Makieria, Kia, Raynal, Brittney J-B.,Kishara, Donald, Amber, Jasmine S, Patrice, Jasmine D and Jasmine J. to name a few.  Join them!

Parent Meeting 12/2/06 @ Miami Northwestern, in auditorium @ 9:30 a.m.

The Parent Meeting was a success.  Ideas, suggestions and comments made by parents will help build a better IHAD-Group #2.  Some of the issues and topics discussed were Take Stock, Community Service, Contracts, College Tour and Dreamer awareness.  We thank those in attendance!

Ms. Cannon has created 'Story Hour' in partnership with Ms. McCray(Miami Northwestern Senior High) for you to obtain community service hours.  'Story Hour' is one hour per day of story telling (books), homework help or recess assistantance to the Charles R. Drew and Olinda Elementary Schools Aftercare programs.  Sign Up today!

Community Service Projects! Contact Ms. Cannon

Community Service Requirements for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

To complete the community service graduation requirement for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, you must complete a community service project between 9th and 12th grade.  No set number of service hours is required(minimum of 25) for the project unless you are working toward th Florida Academic Scholars certificate, the Superintendent's Diploma of Distinction or the Silver Tassle(a minimun of 75 hours of service for each and a letter on letterhead verifying the hours is also required.

 

New Community Sevice Projects coming soon.  Created projects are 'Story Hour' in various community elementary schools.  Charles R. Drew and Olinda are already on the list.  More schools will be added.  Be sure to sign up.

 

 

I've completed orientation for you at the Miami Jewish Home!  Are you interested in getting you community service hours here?  It's a great, fullfilling project!  Some dreamers are already signed up!  You can get two hours per month or more.

Dreamers are welcomed to attend all scheduled tutoring sessions and upcoming Dreamer activities.
