Inspiration and Motivation

Your own mind is a sacred enclosure into which nothing harmful can enter except by your permission- Ralph AWaldo Emerson

Work as if you were to live a hundred years.  Pray as if you were to die tomorrow. -- Benjamin Franklin

*You are destined to be great!*
                I Asked

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve.
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked for health, that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.

I asked for riches, that I might be happy.
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.

I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life.
I was given life, that I maight enjoy all things.

I got nothing that I asked for-but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despit myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.

I am among all men most richly blessed.

Teenage Parent?
Can you support the child financially and emotionally?  Children are expensive and need alot of attention, you're a child you should know.
Are you ready to sacrifice your education, time spent with friends and having fun?  Not to mention your allowance!
Can you be a role model?  Children learn more from what they see more than what they are told.
Have you read anything on child development?
Are you ready to put someone else's needs before yours? No hairdo, No new Jordans, No Baby Phat, No Roca Wear and kiss your cell phone goodbye!
Did you know that some babies are born with serious challenges, like being mentally and/or physically  handicapped?  Can you handle that?  It's ten times the job of having a normal child.
Do you have enough education to find a job that will provide for the child for the next 18-22 years?  Not to mention paying rent and buying groceries.
Do you know how to budget money?
Do you have a car?  That's another problem!
Are you involved in school extra curricular activities? Say goodbye to the football team, majorettes, cheerleaders, track coach and FBLA.
Need I say more?  You are not ready to be a teenage parent.  Think before you let it go!

*NOTE* A young lady participating in baby care in her
psychology class was riding with the baby (doll) in her car, the baby cried out, scared her and she ran off of the road having an accident.

The seven people that live inside of you are:
1.  The you that you think you are.
2.  The you that others see.
3.  The you that you used to be.
4.  The you that you want to be.
5.  The you that you really are.
6.  The you that others try to make you.
7.  The you that you try to project.

Book Club Reads: Sarafina's Wish.  This provocative, captivating story is truly one of inspiration for young adults.  Perserverance and determination is the key!

'Touching Spirit Bear'  This is a fascinating book about a boy's journey from anger and destruction to healing and compassion.  This is a must read!  I've read it twice.  Suspense and perpetual drama!

School visits are in order so be on your best behavior as always (smile).
